Yes! This has the high output 6.2L J-code engine.

This engine has 155hp @ 3600rpm and 257 lb-ft @ 2000rpm. So somewhere in the 305 range, with a little more power than an LG4 but as much torque (and a little lower rpm) as the L03. With decent fuel economy. And that awesome diesel sound. 4.56 axle is not as cool with the turbo 400. Not a daily driver.

Compression was down to 8.5:1 and the 472 V8 (great engine) was down to 220 hp and 365 lb-ft. Even the shortest wheelbase on this platform was 130 inches. I say the Sedan 75 is unmanageable because its wheelbase is a staggering 151.5 inches. That's 2-1/2 FEET more wheelbase than the 77-96 D-body.

These are also fun conversations pieces to discuss gross vs net horsepower. In 1971, the 500 had 8.5:1 compression and 365 hp gross. It also had a 235 hp net rating. So yeah. About those 400+ horsepower 60s engines....very few actually put out any kind of OMG power, and they are usually worth serious coin now. Cadillac also put their analog multiport EFI on the 500 in 75-76 (215 hp!) which is also interesting.

A friend of mine in high school's father liked old Caddilacs and always had several late 70's through early 80's models. I specifically remember a Coupe Deville with a 425, maybe a '78. It was a light turquoise with a matching leather interior. It, like my Cutlass, had no power if you wound it out. However, with so much torque available at such a low RPM, the thing was a comfortable cruiser and never felt like it was straining when accelerating at part throttle. According to Wikipeida, the 425 put out 320 lb-ft at 2000 rpm for the carb engine. Not a 472 or 500, but you get the idea.

If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

Car has no issues. No check engine light or any other lights on. Taken care of and given its oil changes regularly. Hardly driven and the car has not seen snow this year. The engine and transmission run smooth no leaks, smells ,knocks or weird noises. Very quiet and smooth. The only sound you can hear is the turbo spooling.

Silver top 20V 4AGE swap. It only makes ~160hp, but it does that at 7400rpm. Also factory ITB, which is cool. The later black top versions rev even higher. They sound like this when you remove the factory air box/plenum thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xo5IbRhh7TM
