Not sure what I am more surprised about,

The M3 being so low,
The Panamera being so high with all of the hate it gets,
The ATS-V winning,
Mercedes being on the list and beating the BMW's and CTS-V,
Or the fact that the SS and Caprice (ok now you know I am trolling) are not on the list.

Go ATS-V! I also guess that means that the new Camaro SS beats all of these. Even better!

I'd be interested to see where the Camaro lands. Though there is no Camaro sedan...

I thought sedans had the same performance with extra doors.

They do. The ATS-V sedan actually was like a tenth faster than the coupe.

24.0 is pretty good. It was among the fastest times.

Yeah it basically tied the smaller and lighter ATS-V. That is most certainly impressive.
billgiacheri wrote:The ATS-V winning,
Of course. That was my main "wow" I think.

I believe the E63 is really the CTS-V competitor. The CTS-V was faster. But hang on: there were THREE Mercedes cars on this list!! I have been paying attention to their performance cars over the past 5 years and they really are doing a very good job. They offer the numbers, the feel and the overall engagement that BMW does not.
billgiacheri wrote:Or the fact that the SS and Caprice (ok now you know I am trolling) are not on the list.
Well...The best SS figure-8, for comparison, was 24.9 @ 0.81G (or 24.8s @ 0.80G for the 2014), so it wouldn't make the list. But then the cars on this list are expensive.

It is possible that the ATS-V is actually the cheapest one on the list. The gen 5 Camaro 1LE ran 24.2 to 24.5 so even it would have been at the bottom of the list. New SS: 24.1. Old Z/28: 23.6 (one tenth faster than the new ATS-V). GT350R turned a 23.3 @ 0.87G which is ridiculous.

Now this will be fun to look through.

You'll notice that when it comes to the absolute fastest thing you can get, the C7 Z06 is a total animal. Second only to the Porsche 918 million dollar supercar.

The GT350R is #28 for context.

Re-quoted for emphasis: The ATS-V is significantly faster around the figure 8 than the new Camaro SS. I think this should be the case. But the more interesting question is, would the ATS-V be better performing with the LT1? Or just better sounding?

That is interesting. Consider that the Camaro has more HP and Torque, Not by a lot but still, and it is the same chassis, except for supposed improvements, that made it worse???

To be fair, I'd compare the ATS-V to the 1LE when it comes out. The gap will shrink.

This is a little odd.

New ATS-V: 23.7
New Camaro SS: 24.1
Old ZL-1 convertible (4,373 lbs): 24.1
Old ZL-1 coupe: 23.9
Old 1LE: 24.2
