I couldn't help but notice a total lack of American vehicles. But this comment may explain why:
The seeming diversity of models is a bit misleading, as many of these cars share the same chassis & engine components (i.e. the stuff that makes them so crash-worthy). The two Toyota Prii' and the Lexus CT200h share the same chassis/drivetrains. The Golf/GTI, Audi A3 share the same chassis/drivetrains, The Honda Civic and Acura ILX share components. And the Scion iA is really a Mazda 2 sedan, which is not otherwise sold in the U.S..
Of course, what this means is, statistically, if you removed the duplicates, anything that moves up into the top 10 would be in the bottom ~five. Still, they might GET into the top 10 and thus would have been part of this list. And maybe the more important point: there are like five duplicates here!!

Other thoughts:
I'd love to see them start doing crash tests BETWEEN various vehicles. Crashes between a car and a pickup or large SUV might be especially revealing.

Also, insurance companies must have loads and loads of actual real world crash data from ACTUAL accident reports. Why is this not compiled and published? With the speed of computers today you would think this would be a very very easy task to accomplish.
Let's go big data analytics!
