This is impressive. Dodge Ram Cummins in -35°F (Anchorage) without using the block heater. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzbbMlWp5Xg

Duramax in -26°F (the entire startup is faster but I don't know if the 9°F difference would play much into that). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yy0ZGaGT-C4

This amused me. A Dodge/cummins fan cold starts an 05 Duramax in 8°F (not that exciting) but he says how annoying it is that the truck starts so effortlessly compared to his Dodge. So who knows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79UrF6COjsg

Then this is a disaster. LB7 Duramax (first gen) in -27°F. I think the glow plugs weren't working (or the controller). Unless the LB7 is just terrible at cold starting. Or injector problems. I blame Isuzu. Obviously. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYv5ynJAEYk

You can see the importance of glow plug function in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnYzM7J2NgA

When he finally got his ass outside and let the glow plugs cycle (which amazingly takes all of 1 second), it fired right up.
