Best quote so far talking about Subarus (at a Subaru shop):
well Cody always says rally-inspired not rally built
for the Subaru community: You do not own a rally car. It is not rally bred. You own a street car from a heavy equipment manufacturer, who happened to have rally cars.
Nice.
Worth mentioning that the Evo comes with stronger everything from the factory.

Nice rant by Matt at about 58:00 about all this trendiness of multiple tunes. Like, street tune, track tune, E85 tune, 93 tune, MPG tune. It is not necessary.

Matt discusses his favorite turbo.
He went with the On3 78/75:
http://www.on3performance.com/shop/on-3 ... bocharger/
That was the really fast spooling one he ran on the Colorado for a while. Drove awesome, and it can make about 700 rwhp which is more than anyone really needs on the street. And as he stated, that 700 rwhp is through an unlocked torque converter, which makes it even more impressive.
They discuss lag at 1:04:25 and it's hilarious. It also matches up to what we saw in the videos.

Other discussion: they agreed the best turbo you can buy in terms of durability is Borg-Warner.

It is crazy how much is wrong with the Subaru engines.
- Valve cover leaks and other leaks that you end up having to live with - the heads/valve covers are sideways!
- Head gaskets
- #4 cylinder blows up - so Subaru put the knock sensor right there since they already knew it was crap
- Stock rods are weak and can't take any more than the stock turbo can give
- Stock injectors have no head room
- The block is weak
Bonus: the 5-speed transmissions are also weak. The newer 6-speeds are pretty strong though.

Good thing for the Viggen...
