Best Manual for under $1,800

I am thinking of selling the Corolla to learn how to really drive a manual. (I already can, but am not good at it)
I am guessing I could get about $1,500 for the Corolla and investing a couple hundred extra isn't out of the question.

It is amazing that these 2 cars are so different and the same price point. It is also amazing that a 1987 IROC is worth more than a 2002 5 series... What a strange world we are living in.
