About time we saw this.

I don't care so much about the EPA numbers but real world driving. Another reason why adding turbos doesn't increase fuel economy - you have to run a lower compression ratio than you otherwise would without the turbo, which sacrifices efficiency the entire time you are not in boost. With this new engine you can have high compression at light load (Infiniti is claiming diesel efficiency) and still have access to power when you need it. All for the cost of hopeless complexity.
