There were plenty of guys running around with warmed up 305s on the Thirdgen forum. You'd do better with a 350 but the parts inside (intake, heads, cam, tune) are a more accurate indicator of performance potential than the displacement itself.
If you want to see an OEM application of that, witness the L03 and civilian L05. Only 10 more hp on the 350. This was in the 92-93 timeframe. About 45 more lb-ft. Very similar to this test actually.
This comparison was 367 cid vs 410 cid Mopar.
Looking at the curves, the 410 will drive better as does the L05.
