Unusually High Volume of Spam

For the last couple days, I have been receiving literally hundreds to thousands of spam messages a day at my yahoo email. Is there any way to rectify this, or do I just need to get a new email address? I have used this one for the last 12-15 years so it's kind of a pain to switch now.

Same thing been happening to me for my yahoo email. I just do my best to go through and hit the option to unsubscribe in hopes that maybe I won't get any more of these types of emails. I did this awhile back and it appeared to work but recently, it's been coming back.

I have been unsubscribing diligently from every spam message I have received. I am not sure if it's helping yet. It is strange because I went from almost no spam to 10-20 messages an hour overnight. It seems to have slowed a bit with all of the unsubscribing I have been doing, but only time will tell if I can get it back to the way it was.

Bill suggested to check your paypal and ebay account for fraudulent activity. And see if any of the spam looks like more than just spam.

It takes a while for that stuff to filter down to spammers, mostly from a price standpoint.

Or Yahoo has just given up and is slowly turning things off (like their spam filters).
