I still like these. This is a proper luxury car.

I do like that my only 2 year newer (and significantly cheaper) STS has a substantially more modern infotainment system.

Runs 14.0 @ 101, which is somewhat disappointing considering the cylinder count and complexity. It's basically on par with a new GTI.

Well I guess the question is, what is a similar luxury car (even if it isn't quite as awesome) that is as fast or faster, for similar prices (like less than $10k)? That is really the question. It would probably be an E60 7-series. Or possibly something like an S600.

There is the STS-V but that's not really under $10k.

I guess this car isn't really about performance anyway. It's more of a plush touring car. I just can't help but think the performance will be decent when I hear 400+ HP and 12 cylinders.

There is a 2005 300C I guess. That probably had performance in the same ballpark, not faster. And the car itself is light years away in terms of...everything.

I think you'll find a fairly short list of anything that can be called a luxury car under $10k (especially under $8k) that traps over 101. We should make that list.

E55 AMG comes to mind, though I'm not sure if you consider that a luxury car.
