Man, $35k.

I understand why the Miata may be appealing in a world of way too much power and numb, heavy vehicles. But when you are getting less, paying more kind of doesn't check out. This MIGHT give a Camaro 2.0T a run on some curvy roads. Maybe.

I had the opportunity to drive one of these recently when my friend rented one during a business trip to Charlotte. I felt like the chassis was very nice and a lot of fun. The chassis felt more rigid than previous generation Miatas I have driven. The steering was quick with nice feel. It was an automatic, which I feel very negatively affects the character of the car. It just wasn't fun without the manual. I am happy that cars like this still exist, because they are fundamentally different from bigger, often more capable sports cars.

Shouldn't it be like $22k? Maybe not with the retractable hard top. I guess I don't really see why a $35k version even exists.

The 35k version probably exists because mostly boomers buy Miatas and they have a lot of disposable income.
