I'd say this car continues to be the car enthusiasts choice, among midsize FWD sedans. I guess sedans should differentiate from crossovers by being better to drive, and this car does that, but to what end? I'm not sure this is really better than the Accord overall. The Accord is significantly faster actually. And it returns worse city but better highway mpg.

This car is also $36k as equipped. If you believe it is a FWD BMW or Mercedes, that is a good deal.

This is also kind of funny but this car has a wheel spin problem off the line. Blame the 310 lb-ft of torque, or blame Mazda for building cars that don't hook up (one reason why Bill is always so adamant that he needs AWD, because his 2.0L Mazda 3 has traction issues). Tires have a lot to do with it - in both cases. Here the 6 runs a lame 127 feet from 60-0 which is all tire. And, actually, Bill, don't you run some generic Kumhos or something? Maybe you (and Mazda) need to start sweating the tires.
Simply put, the Honda puts the power down, and the Mazda doesn’t. Launching the Mazda6 takes practice and a careful foot, as you can easily spin the tires off the line. Even if you get the launch right, it’ll spin the tires again at the top of first gear when the engine hits peak horsepower.
This is all fine and good except the car runs a 15.0 @ 93.4 mph. That is just a couple ticks faster than, oh, say a 1995 Maxima SE (yes, manual). Or a 1994 Impala SS/Caprice/Roadmaster. I'm not sure the Mazda 6 even gets way better fuel economy than the Maxima. Yes, maybe 2 or 3 mpg better, and on 87 instead of 93. But is that all we get for 23 years of progress, and a fancy turbo engine? The skidpad grip isn't really even better (yes, this is the least important chassis spec) but it does appear they are using some lame tires, even though they are quoted as saying they are pleased with the tires.

I have to say, this car looks good. The specs are a little weak though. They need to come out with an AWD Speed6 with more power, for the same price.

I lol'd. It probably flings them under the rear wheels.
