Out with the L05, in with the 5.3L. This might be really interesting, since he's using a modest LS.

Fun fact about 5.3 swaps (learned from another guy): swap in 4.8L pistons, which are flat top, and you get 10.6:1 compression on a 5.3L, which is perfect with a cam.

15.1 @ 91, which is pretty much a stock LT1 wagon. I wonder what it gets for fuel economy.

I would think so. I believe this 5.3 was bone stock so 285hp plus whatever gains from the headers and tune. I'd expect a little more trap than 91 but probably no more than 93 or so. He seemed to enjoy his 2-1 chirp.
