Server OS upgrade

My hosting company upgraded the OS on my server to Ubuntu 12.04. This site seemed to be down (Cloudflare DNS issue) but it looks to be working now. And seems fairly snappy. So that's something.

Can it do SSL or render mobile pages?

I'm sure it CAN do SSL but I'm not sure that's included in my current product.
Mobile page rendering sounds like a web developer thing, not a host thing.

With a newer OS, you can run newer software (probably).
