It ain't no Escalade, that's for sure.

Also, Escalade is faster and the Navigator only got 1 mpg better despite the EcoBoost V6.

The grill sucks.
the grille has horizontal bars similar to those on newer Lincolns, but the resemblance is remote—it looks more like a chromed evolution of the long-dead Oldsmobile Bravada’s grille than it does the swoopy wings of the smaller MKC crossover
Ouch.
There’s no disguising the Navigator’s size or mass, but when the road curves, the 2015 version fumbles and flails around less than before. GM’s fresh SUVs feel nimbler (in part thanks to weighing a lot less), but the Lincoln can hold its head up in the presence of an Infiniti QX80.
Nice back-handed compliment. It's kinda OK compared to some even more irrelevant competition! Great news.

I actually liked the Navigator back in 98 because it came with a new engine: the 5.4 DOHC which was putting out 300hp to GM's L31 Vortec 5700 at 255hp in the GMT-400 trucks. So that seemed cool. But once GM switched to the Gen III+ engines, Ford lost the powertrain advantages. And I think GM slowly began to pass them on the rest of the vehicle, as well (especially at the high end).

I kind of wish I had rented that Escalade they offered me in Boston a few weeks ago. I was so disappointed over the lack of any luxury sedans that I just gave up and took a base model Chrysler 300.

On a related note to this post, C/D had a Tahoe vs Expedition comparison article in the latest issue (what is this, 2003?). The Expedition, which is an old platform, actually won. I think they mostly cited advantages with the IRS in the Expedition (ride and cargo/packaging). Interesting. It was the new DI 5.3 vs the EcoBoost. The Tahoe actually got better fuel economy.

Not surprised at all that the Tahoe got better fuel economy. I am pretty sure a NA Ford V8 would get better real world economy than the Ecoboost.
