When the pit maneuver doesn't work

It's funny because normal people are not capable of recovering from a pit maneuver. Somehow it's supposed to disable the vehicle but in reality I think all it does is disorient the driver and cause them to give up. Spinning out isn't going to disable anything if you can drive.
