I don't fully understand why these stopped being imported in '95. This says they actually made these until 2002 in Japan, and they actually look better in the later Japanese only models.

I really hope Mazda can get back to this. This car was awesome. It looks great, I think better than the Supra, 3000GT and any Nissan. It also handled better as far as I know.

I could absolutely do without the rotary, I have heard nothing but problems with it, but Mazda, make this again. I would even be ok with 4 seats like the RX-8, but make it look like this, not the 8.

I know that the Supra was awesome, and could be made faster, but I always thought this looked better.

This is a great example of why Mazda is/was awesome, This is on the RX-8, I will look for data on the RX-7 for future posts.

They were never the fastest, but they are great to drive.

The Supra was more of a touring/GT car. The RX-7 was a sports car.

I finally got to drive a 93 RX-7 a few years ago. I was fully expecting to be let down, but I must say it was a very impressive experience. It is certainly one of the best handling cars of the 90s, and compares well to anything in the modern era.

Is it bad to say that I prefer my Elise over an RX-8 because it's more reliable?

Also, the understeer issue in the stock Elise can be fixed in less than an hour in your driveway by removing the camber shims. Once you add a bit more negative camber in the front, the car really balances out.

Well, the Elise did beat the RX-8 in the handling test. I think the Elise also looks 1000 times better than the RX-8. The RX-7, late 90's early 2000 models are very good looking though.

34,545 miles. Cheaper than much older, higher mile, lower models in the states.

I am not sure it would be drivable here though. I am not sure the laws around that. I am guessing that the wheel would have to be swapped along with the dash and console. I heard that they weren't sold here towards the end due to emissions so that might be a deal breaker.

The third gen RX-7 is timeless. It still looks good today.
