Sleepers

I have always liked the sleeper idea, mainly because I don't like getting pulled over.

Here is a cool video:

Too bad the Regal isn't RWD or I would actually do this today as a daily driver. I actually don't think that car looks as bad as the guy in the video makes it out to be either.

I've actually seen some of that video before.

Also, I like how TW = youtube. You know what they say, if you have the tubes, use them.

Figured I would bring this back.

Still think this would be the ultimate LS swap sleeper:

Or what about this: I bet you could make a poor mans CTS-V

I don't actually know if anyone has done that. But it may require similar work as other LS swaps due to subframe differences. At least you could get a CTS-V engine calibration and start with that...

The difference is you can get one of these rust free for 2 grand or less with leather and options. I looked it up, the gen 1 is actually a decent amount lighter than the gen 2: 3568 compared to 3860 lbs. This is a good donor car price for a swap. I am getting really frustrated with seeing Montes in much worse condition for way more money.

LS motor doesn't seem to be much heavier than the 6 that came in this either. I bet if you raised the bar even more, a TT 5.3 would compete with the Gen2 CTS-V. For WAY less money.

I am going to do some internet research on this. GM already put an 8 in this car. There has to be an easy way to do it.

So the V1 weighs about 3,850 lbs. The V2 is over 4.100 if memory serves.

I got those 2 weights from Wikipedia. It doesn't say the trim/version of the car. I assume it is the base of each.
3568 compared to 3860 lbs. So the base Gen 1 is 3568 and the Vgen2 is 4100? I know the chassis is bigger in the second gen.

I think I was saying that I would expect a properly swapped CTS to weight around what the V1 does.
