Holy shit. This is stacking up to be really good. This is the model China gets as well. It is probably the best value in the market.

Lots of details sweat here. Engine refinement. Hell, wiper refinement. 8 speed auto now.

But my favorite thing: Apparently they benchmarked the Nissan 3.7L as the most refined (I know) and they say this beats it. Variable cam phaser reduces compression for really seamless stop /starts. Most impressively, instead of increasing power, they focused on NVH and increasing fuel economy. How they increased performance is by pulling 300 lbs out of the platform. Wow, it's like they actually get it. Crazy.

It looks like the 3.6L is an LGX engine. Does this mean the Impala is due for a refresh too?
