This is going to be just as much (probably more) about political theater as figuring out what took GM so long to initiate a recall. Some U.S. rep. will grill her about things she wasn't around for and then report to his district that he "stood up for the tax payers who are being betrayed by GM after we had to bail them out." Never mind the fact that he didn't actually get anything accomplished and it's all just posturing.
The statute of limitations thought comes to mind, except the connection is they knew there was a problem (so did the NHTSA). I guess the dynamic of how that unfolded 10 years ago would be part of the discussion. Not that she will personally be able to speak to any of that, however...
