So I freaked out for a minute. First I thought I can't swap over my axle because then the ABS on the Roadmaster wouldn't work. I thought, for a moment, that the EBCM was programmed for the 2.56 gears and these are completely independent from the PCM and cannot be reprogrammed. Then I was like....wait, my Caprice already has the correct number of teeth on the reluctor, so I don't have to do anything but swap the axle in.

Then I freaked out again - the reason you swap the reluctor when doing gears on these cars is because you are trying to get back to the same pulse per mile (I think it is 4,000). But do 96 B-bodies use the same PPM standards as the 91-93 cars?

I am going with yes for two reasons:
1) All 91-96 B-bodies use Bosch 2U 3-channel ABS. The Fleetwood is the tricky one with fancy 4 channel ABS and "ASR" (TC).
2) All 91-96 B-bodies (and D-bodies) use the same front rotors, which all come with the same tone rings pressed on. If the resolution of the front rings didn't change, why would they change the rear to a different standard? They probably didn't. Also see #1 again.

Anyway, I concluded I can swap it over as I originally posted. Phew.

Rear disc conversion for a Fleetwood keeping the ABS. You already have the required parts (except for the Fleetwood).

I know that guy Navy Lifer. Name is Bill Harper. I bought disc e-brake parts from him once. Unlike the SS forum, the Cadillac Forum goes back a ways. I am sure this info was on the SS forum before it crashed...

I also know the toomanytoyz guy. Lives in NH last time I checked. Been to his town house once. Bill Crovo. He had the first T56 swapped Fleetwood that I can recall. This was a really fun community back in the day. I miss it.

Car is sold. I guess my hunch was right that it was worth pursuing. Hard to do from this far away. There will be others. I don't know if I really have a color preference.

- Black is always good but it's going to be swirl city at this age
- White is always good, like that really mint one in SC for $3500 a while back
- I like the light driftwood (yes, a beige) that this one was
- They came in a few other colors though I'd have to look it up to know for sure. There was a DGGM-like color that is alright. Also a burgundy that I am not a huge fan of.

I think more important than the color is the condition of the car. Really looking for a crème puff, clean inside and out. I am excited about mechanical upgrades, just as I did with my Caprice. I do not want to recondition anything unless it is very minor, easy or otherwise cheap (like the trim issues this 96 had).

I would move my target price range up a little at this point. I am not expecting to get what I want for $1200. I don't know if they really come cheaper than $2500 for what I want, and a few examples have been a lot more. So I don't think I want to pay 5 grand when I could find the same thing for less. But if it comes down to it, and I get desperate (i.e. conditions change), anything is possible.

As I mentioned before, but I will do so again, the attraction to the RMS is the combination of Caprice and Fleetwood. The clean condition at the lower end of the B-body price spectrum. Compatibility to my Caprice. And maybe just as importantly, the one B-body I feel like I really haven't "done." Had a Fleetwood, had a Caprice and did the 9C1 thing (simultaneously taking credit for the Impala SS thing), and I have had enough experience with the wagons. Plus the wagons can't replace a truck anyway so I don't really see the point for what I want. That leaves the RMS as the remaining B-body to explore and upgrade. Seen enough on the forum and back in the day to know they are fun.

What this all means is that if I want to carry on the B-body thing, the RMS is pretty much the direction I would go.

Roadmaster production:
1994 38,909
1995 30,508
1996 22,989
This includes wagons, which they probably made more of.

RMW production:
1994 RMW = 8,885 (wow over 5600 had beige interiors), 6250 had the tow pack
1995 RMW = 5,675
1996 RMW = 9,147
Total Production = 51,917
I guess I was wrong.

The only reason I am putting this here and not scams is because this is a Facebook classified, and this user has been on FB since 2009 and also has an ~05 Jeep Grand Cherokee for sale for like $7k or whatever. Which sounds like market value.

Anyway, have a look.

I still really like the color, and this one presents a lot nicer than the $2700 one. I hate the landau but otherwise very clean looking. And a limited.

I don't know how many miles but I guess I hesitate to engage...first I don't even have FB.

Would you like me to engage? It does look really good for $1200.
