You're right. That is the kind of methodical mechanical maintenance that Adam or I would do on a $2000 used car and it's already been done. If it isn't too rusty, that is tempting. I suppose Jamie could drive that as a backup. If it isn't too rusty....she wouldn't really like it though. It would feel huge to her, and drive huge.

It is very local by the way. I could look at it. A 4WD Tahoe beater is nothing to sneeze at. Coming out of winter as we seem to be, the attraction is definitely less.

Also it has barn doors. Some people swear by those.

So I'm thinking this would have been donated to the school. It would have to pass safety to be put on the road. I dunno, I am much more excited about the Super even though it is a totally different vehicle. Plus I have a 1/2 ton truck with extended cab. The Tahoe would add 4WD (occasional usage) and a much better back seat.

Rear wiper doesn't work

This would be a decent buy with a little TLC. It's had a lot of mechanical work which all sounds good. Plus it has new Cadillac converters. And it's right in my back yard.

1998 Chevy Tahoe - $2500 (North Kingstown)
This 1998 Tahoe ain't pretty cosmetically but she runs & drives good. Rear door behind driver dosent open. Needs new lever. Transmission shifts good, 4wd solid and the motor is strong. . 6000 miles ago Coventry High School Auto program did the following. (All new exhaust, and Cadillac converters , all new brake system including rotors , drums , brake lines master cylinder . Also all new axle seals both O2 sensors , oil cooler and gaskets . Serpentine belt , tensioner assembly , four new Cooper HT tires, radiator and cooling system all new as well as the thermostat . Intake manifold gasket , valve cover gasket ,bypass hose, new windshield . All fluids changed including transfer case gear oil on the four-wheel and two-wheel drive cases, transmission fluid filter, oil line coolers both replaced. 2 pinion seals , air filter, fuel filter , ignition wires , spark plugs, distributor cap, ignition rotor, distributor, transmission filter kit , oil cooler line, pitman arm, All four shocks are new, PCV valve. Does it make a great work or plow truck! 170,000 Miles. $2500 obo

But really the problem is, they picked the wrong vehicle to do all this mechanical work on. This thing was ready to be donated/written off. Looks a bit rusty and overall not clean at all. Kind of a shame really. For $1500 I think this would be great though. They really did a ton of work. I assume the high school auto program labor is supervised...
