CTS V2V

My take: nothing's different today as a result of this press release. My issue is people run with things like this and make it seem like everything's changing, but this J2735 standard has been around since at least 2009.

Like I said, this was a thing before the PR. I guess I can't help if people didn't know about it and are learning about this all at once but that's on them - it's been around for years. I would be surprised if the CTS was really the first vehicle in the entire industry to use this standard. But even if they are, it was in development for long enough for people to understand it was eventually going to make it into a car. And Cadillac (and GM) aren't even on the leading edge of autonomous technology.
Also, the umbrella technology is called V2X, which includes V2I, which is Vehicle to Infrastructure. It is explained a little in the PDF.

This does not specifically reference V2V or V2X.
