He identified something that is kind of critical in explaining why this happens. It's not that the rotor face rusts to the face of the hub. It's that the circumference of the hub has too tight of a fit inside the rotor hat and adding even a small layer of rust just totally freezes it in there.
I did like the puller combined with the sharp impacts of the air hammer. He put the puller on and just tapped it with the air hammer and it popped right off. Well he had to continue pulling with the gear puller but it looked pretty good. I have never seen anything like that before.
