Anyone want an old Fisher stereo system?

Post by kevm14 »

It came with my house and I've decided it's in the way.

Features include:
- AM/FM stereo tuner with digital tuning, and 6 station memory recall
- Dual cassette w/ high speed dubbing
- Dolby noise reduction
- Record player (with free Roy Conniff record)
- 5 band EQ
- Aux input
- Headphone jack
- Made in Taiwan

Speakers use the standard Fisher RCA plugs so either use these or wire up whatever you want.

Total power consumption is listed as 45W so I can't imagine audio power is more than 20W/ch. Probably more like 15W/ch.

This would make a good basement/garage type system just for some tunage. It all seems to sound fine - I don't hear any speaker issues like blown surrounds.

I don't want to throw it away. I'd rather give it to someone who can use it. Come and take it or I can bring it into work.

Speakers look slightly different but the unit looks identical.
Bought this system in 1988 when I was 16 from The Wiz in Union Sq. Was the first major purchase I made with my first job. Even took it with me to college. Used it up till 1999. In 1995 I simply bought a portable CD player and hooked it up to the AUX input when I abandoned pre-recorded cassettes. I only replaced it when I bought a PC in 1999 and began making my own burned CD's. Threw it away in 2013, but I still have the speakers. I loved this machine.
Sweet.

High speed dubbing control!!! So fancy.

I already have a basement and a garage stereo system. They are at Ed's house.

I sent a text out to the band to see if anyone wants it.

Can I have it but request that you continue to store it in your basement for me? :)
