I am in upstate NY for work and it's snowing. I just verified this trick with my Jeep Grand Cherokee rental (RWD with Florida plates - sweet!). I tried unsuccessfully to remote start from my hotel room by just pressing the fob. Put the remove in my mouth and it worked the first time! The parking lot is pretty far away from my room so this was impressive.

Yeah that worked on my Fleetwood. GM has really long range on their remote start cars. I haven't used the remote start on mine yet.

08 SRX rated to 195 feet. I thought it was more. That uses a newer gen fob than my STS.

Says 30 feet for my STS. Pretty sure it can do way more than that.
