This was hard to watch, especially with a European narrating. Something extremely grating about that.
More or less I don't disagree with this list.
I'm not sure what that GM 122 4 cylinder is supposed to be. Also not sure why it's on this list - he says head gaskets... Because 84 hp? Being a European surely he's seen far lamer engines over the decades. Maybe I am missing something. And he says 1982-2003. Just not familiar with it.
Ok and the HT4100. Yes. But he says 82-95! I think he's including the 4.5L and 4.9L. That's bullshit. I don't believe the 4.5 or especially the 4.9 had any issues.
Ford had the extremely dubious honor of having the most modern engine on this list. I feel good about that.
8 worst US engines

He just used the wiki.kevm14 wrote:I'm not sure what that GM 122 4 cylinder is supposed to be. Also not sure why it's on this list - he says head gaskets... Because 84 hp? I'm going to go out on a limb and say the problems he described applied mainly to the first gen 82-86 unit. Which is similar to my HT4100 complaint.
Apparently it was carbureted for the first 1982 J-bodies. It was then TBI fuel injected for 1983. Standard fuel injection in a car as cheap as a 1983 J-body was actually kind of a big deal. Granted it only made 86 hp.
