Some good stuff here. There is a legitimate business/marketing case study material here. Sony made some definite mistakes. I also found the JVC licensing model vs Sony's proprietary model to remind me a little of Apple vs Microsoft. He made some interesting statements in here where Sony evidently released products with little regard for how the consumer would use it or what the consumer wanted, assuming that they knew best. That sounds like Apple. Except Apple's genius is they mostly get it right, or, they usually do well with sales.
