This is kind of lame. Apparently, snooty coastal buyers need the C7 to be something other than a fantastic performer. So GM has created some packages so they can outfit the car to look more like a Jaguar, or more racy.
Actually it's slightly less lame than I originally thought. The Atlantic and Pacific packages, of course, aren't targeted at the actual East or West coasters, as the names may imply.
The Atlantic package is supposed to be the Euro-trash model. Custom luggage. Oh yes.
The Pacific package is the racy variant. Of course, this also seems European to me.
To paraphrase Mitch Hedberg on Ritz crackers, "man, just be yourself." I'm not convinced that these packages get over the hump of the demographic that likes the performance but needs something that will impress his German-car-driving neighbors. But maybe GM did some market research, or something.
Coastal packages for the C7 Stingray

"The Atlantic and Pacific Design Packages were originally designed to showcase how the Stingray could be....."
Used to pass judgement on what east coast and west coast buyers want?

Haha, yeah. Though I doubt these packages were created in a vacuum.
I'm sure the room was at atmospheric pressure.
