What was it you were saying about a balanced chassis and powertrain?

It may be tempting to dismiss what I am about to say as fanboy speak but it's not: high output small displacement turbo engines can be very hard to tame due to the sudden power delivery. In that way, a turbo LS can be a lot more linear. This is evident when you watch the Sloppy Mechanics videos. Yes they have enough power to get completely out of hand, but the power is very easily modulated and there is actual throttle response, at any RPM. It's not magic, of course. High displacement translates to higher native torque which makes the transition to boost more manageable (but as much of an animal as you want - just use the throttle). The only reason the turbo LS is special is because it is relatively compact, cheap and durable, which is nothing to take for granted as not much else can do all 3 of those things.

I can't imagine if a 2JZ was massaged to fit, an LS couldn't. Is an LS even any heavier? It might be lighter...

Not to take anything away from what was shown in the video just that something like a turbo LS could take it from cartoon to a usable car, assuming that's the goal. It probably also needs more tire and a better alignment...which would benefit the current setup, as well.
