Savage Geese: Best fun new cars under $30k

I watched this intently waiting for the Camaro 2.0T. It didn't happen. I believe the reason is because his list was pretty heavily biased to the LIGHTEST cars under $30k that are also made to be sporty. And I think all cars he mentioned are 3,000 lbs and under. I would be curious what he thought of the Camaro 2.0T in comparison to those cars, as it definitely qualifies by price, and is on one of the best chassis in the industry.

I also watched this the other day. I figured you would be disappointed about the lack of Camaro. I guess another thing about these cars is that they're either a dedicated platform where the highest performing model is available below $30k or an enhanced version of an economy car. The Camaro doesn't really fall into either of those categories. I agree that the Camaro should probably be on this list, but I can see how it may have been overlooked given the line of thinking that went into making the video.

I guess I'm just annoyed that he conflates "as light as possible" with "fun" and assumes everyone else has the same criteria. I mean, to someone else, length of burnout per dollar is the most fun.

I guess I'm somewhere in between - I don't believe in speed over everything else, and I don't believe in chassis over everything else (or maybe more specifically, lowest weight over everything else because light weight alone does not equate to fun or even good performance). I would have thought the Camaro 2.0T would strike a very good balance among his list of cars.

What you said is interesting though - aside from the Civic Si, all of his examples were pretty much the best you can get of that model.
