So I think the Expedition is objectively better than the Tahoe. I do not like the front end of the Expedition but who cares what I think about that. As far as I can tell, GM does not have a profitability problem with their K2XX SUVs. So that begs the question: do they need to spend large amounts of money in R&D and on each vehicle and place first in every comparison in order to maximize vehicle profitability? I think the answer is no, but then there is something that I think grates the consumer when an automaker sort of willingly makes an inferior product. So this is a tough subject. Each end of the spectrum is bad I guess.
