Upon further review on Autotrader, there are some even cheaper Gen 6 cars out there. Some as low as $25 - 26k

Interestingly, Car and Driver didn't lap the regular 2016 Camaro SS. So don't know how it directly competes with the 2013 1LE. It is a tough choice between the 2, although the 1LE may depreciate better. Hard to tell.

Yeah that is surprising. What I will say is the 2013 1LE ran a 3:01.5 vs a 2010 SS which ran a 3:09.5. So a full 8 seconds. The 2017 SS 1LE ran 2:54.8. I am going out on a limb that there is less than 8 seconds between the two cars, because a 2010 was the old FE3 suspension. The gen 6 base SS has a lot more goodness baked in. That said, that would still suggest the old 1LE and new base SS perform similarly in track situations. Obviously the gen 6 is faster and I bet the steering is better, plus it probably feels lighter, too.

The Gen 6 is significantly quicker a straight line and comes close to matching the 1LE in other measurables. I think it would be worth test driving both. The 1LE may be a little more "special" in the long run, but it's hard to look past the Gen 6 at current prices.

Here is the current CPO brochure. 6 years means coverage lasts until May 2019 according to the Carfax in service date. Which basically means you get the bumper to bumper and powertrain through May, unless you did more than 12k miles before May which is highly unlikely. So you need to find out exactly how "limited" the bumper to bumper is. To do that you'd take the VIN to a GM dealer, get the service history (Carfax may not be complete) and also the full warranty information, including computed coverage dates. Bob literally just went through this.

It occurs to me that the non-Cadillac CPO is of pretty limited value. I mean I don't know if GM was doing the 6 yr/100k powertrain in 2013 but they have before, so really all this warranty is, is an inspection (which seemed to result in a decent list of replacement items prior to listing the vehicle) and a 12 month/12k bumper to bumper. Either way it is mainly going to provide utility in terms of finding broken or malfunctioning things that were like that when you received the vehicle since it is unlikely for anything new to surface prior to the end of May. Still, that is better than nothing. And I do like the history on this car.
