I see $899 and I assume you'd want to add at least one USB or possibly dual port with aux for a total of $975. Yeah that is not cheap. But it is OEM. You'd also have to pay for integration. It says pre-programmed to VIN....that suggests no tool required? That is cool.

Overall this would probably dramatically improve the user experience, between your Carplay integration and the newer system (better responsiveness, etc.).

Want to put in a phantom bid for $24,500 just to mess with the seller?

It's on craigslist: https://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/d/ ... 79544.html

I am starting high. I plan to drop the price on Friday by a significant amount.

Dropped price to $4,250 on the Rondo. I think I'm going to go under $4k before the weekend. Not to sound like a cliche, but I need this out of my driveway.

The only serious inquiry I've had passed due to the transmission noise. I'm going to have a professional look at it today.

The only two things I could really see making that kind of noise would be the pump or the torque converter. A torque converter change would most likely be a lot less invasive than a pump change, but both would require pulling the transmission. There is probably a way to isolate the noise source between those though it may require advanced diagnostics where you can modify pump pressure up and down and observe the noise. I don't think any visual inspection will reveal anything at all.

There may also be a TSB on trans whine that could help. The idea here is not so much to consider any repairs but gather comforting information that you could hand to the potential buyer so they feel like you actually looked into it and aren't just blowing smoke.

The tech ruled out the pump because the whine only happens in gears 1-3. He said it is most likely a bearing issue. The front office guy at the shop basically said it's cost prohibitive to chase down the specific bearing. The phrase, "it's a Rondo" was used :)
