Hot Rod Garage Supercharges A 5th-Gen Camaro

Post by bill25 »

I have to say that I thought the results would be a lot better than this...

I am a little disappointed that SLP is making something that is a "bolt on" but destroys the clutch after 3 passes. It is also kind of strange that they had this much trouble with a kit that comes with a drive train warranty.

I actually already watched that! I subscribe to Motor Trend's youtube channel which gives me Roadkill episodes (there's a new one) and this other new series (which has some good Q&A about those guys).

But yeah, I don't understand why the results sucked so much. They should have been into the deep 12s or maybe even squeak an 11.9 with that blower. As for the clutch, he did say he was on drag radials.

For $6k, this is the Magnuson supercharger kit for my CTS-V (called Magnacharger). http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/0604ht ... r-install/

That puts me right at CTS-V2 performance. Added around 124 rwhp and 9 mph in the 1/4 (without totally abusing it). Notice it's also in the mid-12s similar to the Camaro. But that would be VERY noticeable from the seat of the pants, since it also added 119 lb-ft.

I don't like the extra weight on the front end, though.
