For reals. I've been non-seriously talking about doing this for years. My friend Mike (who some of you know) is ready to get serious, so there's no time like the present.
We'd shoot for August 8-9 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in Thompson, CT with a potential follow-on at NHMS in Loudon, NH in October. Entry deadline is June 13th for the Thompson race.

Some things we know:
- Team members must supply some combination of labor, parts, or money . Or maybe beer.
There are many TBDs at this point:
- Car? How far to go to get one? Race prep'd or some-disassembly-required?
- Where to build?
- How to transport?
If there is sufficient interest here, I'll make this the discussion point. Even if there isn't, this could be good car content. Mike should probably join this forum anyways.

The good news is everyone know how to fix this. The bad news is we'll have to.

Gone. I have no idea what it was. Oh, I see the URL.
Re: Who wants to race 24 Hours of Lemons?
I should start capturing Craigslist posts as they aren't valid forever.
Sounds like a lot of work...

Not from a computer.
Re: Who wants to race 24 Hours of Lemons?
Mike here.
Other discussions to have:
- how big is the team?
- team budget (it's expensive to race a $500 car)
Size - I'd say 4 is the minimum, but the more the merrier. There are potentially 14 hours of racing over two days in Thompson.
Car Budget -
- Car $500 (or more and we sell off parts we don't need)
- Cage $750
- Car Mods (things like fuel cell, brakes, seat, harness, fire suppression) $2000+
- Consumables (brakes, tires, gas, fluids) ??
Racer Budget
- Fire suit - $150
- Helmet - $200
- HANS - $500
(these can be shared if they fit and you don't mind someone else's ass-sweat in your firesuit)
Needless, looks like we're getting close to $4000 just for the car prep and some safety. Personal equipment goes up from there plus this is assuming the car works great (ha), and our labor is worthless. I feel like we'd need a team that's willing to commit a combined $5000 minimum to even attempt this.
Cheaper option, Lemons Rally: https://24hoursoflemons.com/lemons-rall ... iage-2020/
Any street-legal car is valid.

Re: Who wants to race 24 Hours of Lemons?
Now that I'm done being a Debbie Downer, here are some fun places to search for race-prepped Lemons cars. If we go this route, we're more looking at just the consumable costs and driver costs.

I have never heard of this. Is it new? Also this looks pretty awesome. Bob, do you want to come up for it?bender wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2020 1:59 pm Cheaper option, Lemons Rally: https://24hoursoflemons.com/lemons-rall ... iage-2020/

Anyway, what are the rules? $500 car? Or like...just random old crap that looks bad?
Also, are support teams allowed? I wouldn't mind following I guess, but...not really in the truck.
Re: Who wants to race 24 Hours of Lemons?
Here are the rules: https://24hoursoflemons.com/lemons-rally/#rally-rules
"2.1: VEHICLE ELIGIBILITY Open to anything street-legal and road-insured (be ready to show proof)."
I don't think it even really needs to be a traditional LeMons POS-type car, but based on the points system that appears to be an advantage. I think depending on what we'd be entering, it might be good to have a second entry that is more reliable.
My vote would be something large and American, like a Roadmaster or Cadillac.
