2014 WK2 Evap code

Post by rpaoness »

So, set a minor-leak evap code this morning. I reset to see if it comes back. If I can get to emissions-ready, I need to get through CT emissions, so I'll have to go to the local inspection place as soon as I get "ready" to get it emissions "tested" and VIN-verified, so I can get permanent plates. The title still hasn't come in from PA.

Currently shows all monitors as ready with no evap code. Going to try to get it tested this morning .

Passed, vin and emissions complete, just need a PA title to permanently register.

Light still hasn't come back. Received the title around 5/28, dated 5/21. Strangely it was made out of the PA dealer, not to me. CT DMV appointment system had the soonest appointment at 6/13 which felt crappy to be more than 10 days out. My worry was if something somehow wasn't satisfactory and I had to take a do-over I might've run out of time on the 60-day PA plate (expires 6/24). Got it fully registered with no issues yesterday by transferring my old Jeep registration to the new one to save on plate fees and stuff. Still $964 w/ all fees and sales tax.

Did they have to clear a lien when you bought it?

I'm now suspicious that's what was going on, but it appeared to be standard PA practice to have the title mailed later...

Thursday 7/18 I found a broken hose. Installed a jury-rigged hose on a broken line from the driver's strut tower to the evap solenoid on the intake. Did a much better hose-replacement repair with a 5/16" piece of fuel line and two hose clamps. No codes/CEL since installation.

Still no CEL, so at least this one I think is "fixed".
