I'm thinking about buying one of these yoga 7i 2-in-1's for myself - about $465 for a 512GB SSD / 16GB RAM model with Lenovo's academic discount:

Yet-another-family laptop
Re: Yet-another-family laptop
The screen is bad. Did some research and read comments like on reddit. 300 nits isn't that bright and the 45% NTSC color gamut is atrocious. Could be fine for basic/general usage of course.
The screen PCMag reviewed was the upgraded OLED with 400 nits and probably a shitload better color gamut.

Re: Yet-another-family laptop
Yeah - I think I'm willing to make some screen performance concessions if everything else is OK and meets the "lowest" tolerable price point. For some reason budget-stuff seems to still have only 8GB RAM and this had 16GB for <$500. I ordered it. Please check it out in the first 30 days of when I have it if you can to see if you think I should return it...
Re: Yet-another-family laptop
My recommendation was going to be a previous gen or two that was up market in specs. Kinda like cars....
I would also consider an AMD 4 or 6 core system because Intel has sort of gotten lazy.

Re: Yet-another-family laptop
This is a 2-year old release model. I did check out the comparable Lenovo Yoga AMD models, but to get 16GB I had to get up there in price ($720)...

I meant used.
