php was updated and caused it so I upgraded the board to the latest.

A 3.3.15 update is available which, shockingly, is the latest. Usually I am on an old subversion. Optimized MySQL since it seems to be a little slow lately but that could be on the hosting side, as well. I'll upgrade at some point.

Upgraded web host to PHP 8.3.

Backed up old forum via SSH.

Upgraded phpBB to 3.3.15.

Optimized mySQL.

It had gotten even slower but then much faster. I think the web host moved me to a less crowded shared server. They do this every once in a while. Or more frequently if I complain. I didn't complain this time but was getting close.

Damn, that sucked. There was a cyber issue that the hosting team resolved. Then another site on my shared server was hogging all the tubes. So they resolved that, as well.
