I happened to call the Vernon dealer I bought the GLS550 from about the windshield and when I asked about GLA’s he mentioned he’s not a fan and recommends the GLCs instead. He called me later today and said he won the auction on two GLCs, with 101k-105k mi and would let me know when they’re in.

I don't know how much I value that opinion. I mean I generally prefer more premium platforms, too, but for your usage the GLA seemed to fit. The GLA the lightest, most efficient and cheapest option with a hatch.

And, please: no vehicles with the BMW N20.....

I'm not sure how to compare the FWD based dual clutch vs. the RWD based 9G tronic drivetrains... conventional rear wheel drive layout seems likely more robust, but I think 15% or so worse fuel mileage is "real"... I thought the GLCs were all V6 based, but they are turbo-4 also...

The more useful trunk area of the GLC is appealing.

He also mentioned he thought they'd be sub $14k - not sure if that will bear out.

I would have bought that loaded, low mileage 2015 already.
