Post by rpaoness »

Putting together a shopping list for Benz Warwick (lower prices than FCP Euro, at least so far)

Transmission:
236.21 Transmission Fluid - 6 qts/liters (1 + 5): PNs 001-989-85-03-13 and maybe 001-989-85-03-14
Transmission Filters: 246-377-24-00 and 246-377-23-00
Other FCP Transmission Kit Recommended Parts:
O-ring 022-997-80-45 and 007603-024105
Pan Gasket 246-371-07-80

Rear diff fluid:
85W-140 Synthetic? what does this thing take?

Tire pressure monitoring sensor
Need to find PN

Air filter?

Some notes from my call w/ Warwick Benz:

- Cat was $1208.50 which is about $150 higher than New London Benz so I guess I'll plan on getting that in New London
- TPMS PN is 000-905-0030 - they don't show any but suggested I check New London stock to see if they have one
- Transmission fluid 236.21 5 liter is 001-989-85-03-14, which at $108 makes it about $24 a qt which is great compared to ~$35
- Spare tire - he thought any e-class and/or older s-class spare would likely fit.

Looks like FCP has the TPMS sensor:

OEM is most likely HUF as they've been supplying for years including my vehicles.

RockAuto may also sell the HUF.

Looks like it's the same as my E63. I have two new ones in my garage for my front wheels someday.

I bought HUF from TPMS.com.

What do you think of Vaico filter kits?

I would prefer OEM. Rationale is the A89 update of the 722.9 used a branded and superior filter media and I am not sure the aftermarket has properly duplicated this. The 724 seems like it is needy for fluid service so keeping everything OEM seems prudent.

It's one of those cases where the research to verify aftermarket quality is not worth the time comparing to paying for OEM. Even for 30k intervals.

OK. Looks like it's "only" about $90 more for OEM fluid and filters. Ordered from Warwick. Order 1367. Since I ordered the 5 Liter bottle (+1 add'l liter) I'm not sure if they'll have it in stock.

Actually shows everything as in-stock. Maybe I can get today. Ordering air filter and trans dip stick from FCP Euro.

Has to say in stock in store for it to actually be on their shelf. But even if it's not in store it will be very quickly.
