99 Ram: Fuel tank fell off

Well it didn't fall off. It tried to. The rear strap rusted and broke apart. Here's how I fixed it. Well first I fixed it temporarily. Then permanently.

The new rear strap is falling off again. But this time the part of the frame that holds the strap on the driver's side is just gone. The strap is fine. So now I'm looking into what to do. Apparently this was a recall on the third gen and they have some bracket that you bolt into place. https://www.tsbsearch.com/RAM/14-002-18-REV-A

I don't know if that part is compatible with my strap. Or if there is a different part for the 2nd gen. I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle with this truck at this point.

This is the 3rd gen TSB. Apparently the tank strap can rub against the aluminum driveshaft and basically cut it right in half. Neat.

Pull tank. Cut metal. Install rivnuts. Sounds fun, if the 3rd gen part even fits. Sigh.

Is this the end of the line for this truck? Or maybe I can figure something else out....

Ordered a Mopar bracket (eBay) that is supposed to come with Rivnuts and bolts. Also ordered a Rivnut gun/kit from Amazon. Hopefully I can run the tank low enough to not be a complete nuisance to drop. And hopefully the lines on top all come apart and aren't a rusty mess ....I can see where this is going.
