Chevrolet Bolt
Re: Chevrolet Bolt
This is interesting. The Volt is 34,3xx, and the Bolt is 30,000. I don't have a lot of info on the Volt, but it had a range of 80 miles and I heard the range of the new model will be better.
There are things to consider about the Bolt:
How long does it take to charge? What is the realistic range on a full charge, Highway/city.
For 4 or 5K extra to never have to say, Oh I can't go there my car won't make it the Volt seems like the clear winner. Also, since I always think I am going to lose power, how much would it suck to lose power and not be able to charge my car to leave my freezing home. Example: I drive to work, drive home and find that the power is out. This would be no problem with the Volt.
Things to consider about the Volt:
There is more stuff to break. The Bolt has no oil to change, no (gas)motor to break, and probably has a simpler transmission.

Re: Chevrolet Bolt
This is certainly exciting. I think the 200 mile range will bring a lot more potential buyers into the mix. The way my wife and I use our cars, a 200 mile EV could make perfect sense. It has been a very long time since the Rondo went more than 50 miles from home.
The new Volt is also interesting. EV range has been bumped from 36 to 50 miles and it gets an EPA combined 41 when running on gas.
