RCR: 900,000 mile LS400

Well here is something that is finally interesting.

Spoiler: the owner doesn't know if it is the original engine and trans.

Apparently this is Matt Farah's car?

Farah said it's still the original engine and transmission! Amazing!
It's not the transmission from what I've heard; It's just the trans computer being unable to detect the throttle input which is why it downshifts fine once you tell it to (just doesn't do it automatically because it can't tell that you are trying to accelerate).

Also for the record I believe Matt said he put around $1500-2000 into it upon purchase but before he picked it up (new steering rack, tires, brakes...)
TPS + Speed sensor codes explain the eratic gear shifting - there are different speed sensors - instruments and computer/input related (computer probably cant tell speed and foot position therefor wont change gears to suit - gearbox "limp" mode/no input)
the speed sensor could be what causes it to accelerate in cruise
Wow, nice. I want that so I can fix it and make it work properly.

My favorite quote:
Just because it has 900k miles doesn't mean to not do maintenance on the car...

Hmm...
I RECON the speedometer got changed and thats why the miles are so high!

he did say its the one of the best he has seen for burnt out lights! so probably a reconditioned speedo
That's plausible. I guess we'll never know.
