Sadly, more than the Brougham of the time. Examples:
- First, moonroofs were far more popular on the Town Cars but more importantly, look at the feature when he removes the key
- Full trip computer
- Coolant temp gauge (sigh)
- I don't like the slider auto temp control but at least it has it
- I think these also had adjustable steering assist..but not sure about 1990.
- Automatic high beam dimmer, w/ sensitivity adjustment
- These may have also come with rear air springs (Cadillac never did that), but that's one feature I am not jealous of
The 1990 was special in that it was the first year of the redesign, but the 4.6 modular was not ready. So these still had the old 302 with all of like 150hp. Remember, in 1990, Cadillac was shipping the Brougham with the 4bbl 307. But I'd imagine an L05 would outperform these 302s at least. To say nothing of the later LT1s obviously.
1990 Lincoln Town Car
Re: 1990 Lincoln Town Car
Random commentary:
Never saw the boot for the distributor. Ford always ran a front mount distributor (as far as I've seen), contrary to the SBC which was always rear mount (various other GM divisions had engines with front mount, such as the Cadillac big block). I'd guess the boot is to keep water off of it. Not something that's a problem with a rear mount distributor.
So...people would curse the SBC as far as dist access in vehicles like the 91-93 Caprice which have a forward extended cowl. But, what's more important? A place that protects the dist from water spray every time you drive the car, or a place that is exposed to water spray, but is easier to get at every 50k when you service it? Go on...
