Oh no! I decided to drive my Caprice to work yesterday and this morning. Well, yesterday...
Went to start it this morning and all I got was a click. The lights and volt gauge didn't really dim, either. I gave the starter a smack and that didn't do anything. I'm going to clean the battery cables and try again.
Caprice no start!
Re: Caprice no start!
Cleaned the cables. No change. I got out my broken off rake handle and mini-sledge and gave the starter several good wraps in the daylight. It started. I shut it off and I tried again and it clicked. I tried again and it started. It's started consistently since. I even held the throttle open and let it crank for a while in clear flood and it seems fine...still, this is not normal behavior for a new starter motor. I'll have to think about what I want to do (it's lifetime Napa I think). I guess I should start by finding the receipt, which is one clear Napa annoyance.
