I maintain that the Nurburgring actually makes cars better. It requires delicate chassis tuning (and power and brakes) to get around the track fast. It is far from a flat track, so the suspension must perfect the balance between stiffness/body control and compliance. You need BOTH. What blows my mind about the Camaro is, it's not even the Corvette. And it's called Camaro. It's all naturally aspirated, with the best engine on the planet (I wish they would do a Gen V LS7 but I doubt it's in the cards). Plus, look at all the exotic iron it embarassed? That's not to say someone looking to get a Lamborghini is going to take a look at a Camaro. No one (including GM) thinks that. But my god - just admire the engineering achievement here, for something mere mortals can actually procure.

The Z/28 pulled its time in the rain, too, Oppenheiser notes. He says the car posted 7:31.9 in dry testing, although that is not considered an official time because cameras were not rolling.

I think this car is filed under "no expenses spared for performance." I respect that.
But just remember, the far more streetable ZL1 is $20k cheaper. So there should be no complaining about the price of the Z/28.
