None of these are my kind of car. But, I will say the 3000GT VR4 is my least favorite. In fact, I can't stand it.
The 300ZX put in a showing good enough against the Supra (with a cheaper price) that makes me actually wonder why the Supra is the memorable one. And like John Davis says, the RX7 is the only real sports car here.
Trapping 105 was pretty fast then. I think the Corvette didn't reach that (aside from the much-faster but way more expensive ZR1), until the 96 LT4.
The 300ZX and Supra had 320hp and 315lb-ft. Exactly the ratings of the LH2 Northstar (yes, in the SRX) 10 years later.

I still have a special spot in my heart for the FD RX-7. The car still looks great more than 20 years later. When I drove one about 6 or 7 years ago, I was not disappointed getting out of my Elise into it.
Re: Motorweek Retro: Japanese Turbo Coupe Shootout
To me, the Supra is more memorable because of the insane aftermarket horsepower these could attain. I am sure the Z also had an aftermarket, but the Supra was always the 1000 HP modified story. The 300ZX put in a showing good enough against the Supra (with a cheaper price) that makes me actually wonder why the Supra is the memorable one.

Yeah I thought of that after I posted. Probably true.

Looks like the VG30DETT was about 2 years older than the 2JZ-GTE. Wiki also claims (with citation needed) that the 2JZ-GTE was a response to Nissan's RB26 line in various Skylines.
