But in a more serious response, that's pretty cool. I know growing up, my mom grew up in a more orthordox household where I think they had to hire someone to turn on the oven and/or lights for them since on the Sabbath you're technically not allowed to do "work" and cooking or even turning on a light switch, was considered work. But obviously, there's loopholes to this "work" stuff because clearly walking to temple and then praying is "doing work" but that was clearly allowed.

Then again, I don't have one of those appliances, so perhaps Mr. Mulligan is right and when you put the appliance to Sabbath Mode, Crazy Train starts to play...

There is no way that anyone who has seen Big Lebowski was NOT thinking that when reading this thread. I know I was. I even had this conversation with Giorgio (that I just discovered this thing called Sabbath mode). He knew all about it, and then I tried to quote that scene from the movie with John Goodman's character...

And just checked, my boss, who is an orthodox jewish guy, has heard of this and has the appliances that utilize this technology.
