I don't know if you have to have a Costco membership to purchase but this appears to be a well rated inverter generator for a very good price. 2800W continuous. 120V only, as they basically all are.

0.2 gal/hr at 25% load (700W). I don't know what the other points on the efficiency curve are. If it's 0.4 gal/hr @ 50% load (1400W) then that's actually pretty bad. At least it's quiet.
